Itinerary

During this thrilling 3 day Marrakesh to Merzouga desert tour, you’ll travel in style in our comfortable, air-conditioned minibus. Our English-speaking guide will pick you up from your Marrakesh hotel at 7:15 am and escort you to the tour departure point. Our journey will begin as we travel over the Atlas Mountain range and head for the world-famous Kasbah at Ait Ben Haddou. Once a very important city, Ait Ben Haddou has become a renowned historical site and an extremely popular tourist destination. It truly is a place of wonder and a place where you’ll feel like you’ve taken a step back in time to the days of ancient trading markets, desert nomads, and gladiators. Every moment spent at this Kasbah is a photographic opportunity.
Our lunch break will be taken in the Kasbah after your guided tour has finished. On leaving Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou we’ll head to the city of Ouarzazate, often called The Gateway to the Desert, where many blockbuster movies have been shot; movies like Lawrence of Arabia and The Mummy. Here we’ll rest at a Café before moving on to Dades Valley, and it’s here you’ll spend a very comfortable evening unwinding at a private guesthouse. Your accommodation includes an ensuite bathroom, and you’ll enjoy a sumptuous Moroccan dinner.

On day two you’ll awaken to a hearty breakfast at the guesthouse, after which we’ll leave for Todra Gorge. This Gorge will take your breath away because the scenery is simply stunning. Again, there are unbelievable photo opportunities here, to make sure your camera is charged and ready to go! After a relaxing lunch break we’ll travel to Merzouga.
Your Memorable Overnight Stay at Our Secluded Desert Camp At Merzouga the real fun starts as you begin the camel trekking part of your adventure. Mounted on camels we’ll trek across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, arriving at our secluded Berber desert camp where we’ll spend an amazing night together. You’ll experience a sumptuous Moroccan dinner, followed by a leisurely breakfast the following morning. We’ll then prepare for our final day together as we head back to Marrakesh.

Our camel trekking will continue on day three as we head back to Merzouga. We’ll travel through the Draa Valley and experience the magnificent sights at Rissani; again, fabulous photo opportunities as you study the architecture of Moroccan palaces, temples, and gateways. Then, on to the final leg of our tour where we’ll travel through Nqob and Tamnougalt before arriving once again at the city of Ouarzazate. We’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the many cafes before finally heading back through the Atlas Mountains, where our journey will end in the city of Marrakesh at approximately 8 pm.
